England boss Gareth Southgate has received a major boost after Luke Shaw returned to full training ahead of the Three Lions’ Euro 2024 clash against Slovenia.

England have four points from two matches, and can secure top spot in the group with a win against Slovenia in Cologne on Tuesday.

Shaw hasn’t featured for the Three Lions in Germany and was named in the 26-man squad despite carrying a hamstring injury.

The Manchester United full-back last played in February and has been on a personalised individual training programme in Germany.

With Kieran Trippier struggling with a calf injury, England’s options at left-back were looking increasingly concerning.

But, in a boost for the knockout stages, Shaw returned to training on Monday.

It’s a major boost for the Three Lions, who have been disjointed in their opening two fixtures.

Trippier has been unable to provide his usual attacking thrust from left-back, with the Newcastle United man needing to come inside on his favoured right foot.

All 26 players appeared on the training pitch in Cologne, with England recording a clean bill of health.
