Manchester United should make a move for Real Madrid wonderkid Arda Guler with the Turkey star lighting up Euro 2024, Dwight Yorke says.
Going in to the Euros, Guler was one of the promising young stars fans and clubs were going to be keeping an eye on and so far he’s shown exactly why.
The 19-year-old was electric in Turkey’s opening game against Georgia, scoring a stunner in the 3-1 win, though he was surprisingly benched and limited to a 20 minute cameo in the 3-0 loss to Portugal.
Vincenzo Montella will likely restore him to the starting XI for the crucial final game of Group F on Wednesday night, when Turkey will take on the Czech Republic.
Guler, who can play as an attacking midfielder or on the right-wing, has been touted for big things but was limited to just 10 La Liga appearances, and only four of them starts, at Real Madrid.
He was still able to find the back of the net six times, averaging a goal every 63 minutes, but his game time is unlikely to improve significantly especially after Los Blancos added Kylian Mbappe to their attacking line-up.
He has therefore been tipped to move away from the Spanish giants and United hero Yorke is hopeful he might end up at Old Trafford.
‘Arda Guler has some talk about him being this wonderkid for a couple of years now, and he’s shown he does have that special quality when he scored the wondergoal for Turkey,’ the former forward told Crypto Sports Betting.
‘He has lit up the Euros, and now everyone will be wanting to rescue him from Real Madrid’s bench.
‘We’ve seen the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah leave a big club like Chelsea and it has benefited their careers. Who is to say that Guler leaving Real Madrid to join Man United won’t be a similar case?

‘He needs an opportunity to play week in and week out. Everyone looks for an experienced, quick fix, but we shouldn’t look past Guler who can become world-class.
‘I’m all for Man United signing him.’
Guler only joined Real from Fenerbahce last summer in a deal worth around £17million, and despite his limited appearances he still ended the season with La Liga, Champions League and Spanish Super Cup winners medals.
The right-side of attack has been a problem are for United, with big money signings Jadon Sancho and Antony flattering to deceive, and a move for Guler may be considered after they missed out on top target Michael Olise who looks set to join Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace.
