A Makurdi High Court has fixed July 11 to hear a suit seeking to stop Mr Bemgba Iortyom from parading himself as the publicity secretary of the Benue State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Justice James Shishi fixed the date while ruling on an application brought before the court on Thursday by Mr Terese Achir.
DAILY POST recalled that Iortyom was suspended by the Mbagba PDP Ward Exco of of Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State.
When the case came up, counsel representing Iortyom and PDP, Tera Mue, argued that the court process was served on them late and so they could not prepare their defence.
The applicant’s Lawyer, C.N Agugu appearing with E.N Imande, said since the defendants have the right to fair hearing, they will not object to their application.
Iortyom and the chairman of Mbagba PDP Ward EXCO were suspended for alleged anti-party activities and alliance with Labour Party elements.
