Killings in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital continue on Thursday afternoon as a rice hawker was gunned down by some unknown persons.
The deceased, who was said to be hawking rice in a wheelbarrow was shot dead at the popular Bisi Market in the town by the men riding on a motorcycle.
LEADERSHIP gathered that market women, traders and other people around immediately fled from the area following the incident.
A source said, “It happened this afternoon at Bisi Market around an orthodox church. They just came on a bike and shot the man.
“We don’t know what is happening now in this city. Just this morning, a PoS operator was killed at Adebayo area.
“Three persons have been killed within the last three days. The security situation in Ado Ekiti is becoming a serious source of concern to us all. We appeal to the government to urgently do something about it.”
Another source however said the deceased may not likely be the target, saying it could be a case of mistaken identity.
