A 15-year-old girl was fatally shot hours before her eighth grade graduation and her boyfriend has been taken into custody.
Ahliana Dickey was supposed to attend her graduation on Friday and her family became worried when she did not show up, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.
Family members tried contacting her and then went to her home in Lowell, Massachusetts.
Shortly after 6pm, her Ahliana’s grandmother called police to report that she was ‘found, possibly deceased’ inside her home on Lawrence Street.

‘Upon arrival, police located the victim, subsequently identified as Ahliana Dickey on the floor in a first-floor bedroom with apparent gunshot wounds,’ stated the district attorney’s office on Monday.
Multiple shell casings were discovered at the crime scene.
Investigators found out that Ahliana was in an ‘abusive relationship’ with Trevor Bady, 21, who allegedly hit and threatened her previously.
Earlier that day, just after midnight, cops received a call from an individual on Lawrence Street who said a male and female were fighting across the street and that the female shouted, ‘Get off me, get away from me, I don’t want to be with you anymore.’ Gunshot sounds were also heard.

Cops recovered surveillance footage and identified the female as Ahliana.
On Saturday, cops found out that the suspect apparently took Ubers to Ahliana’s home and leaving it after the murder. The Uber driver described the suspect, identified as Bady, as suspicious.
That afternoon, Bady was arrested without incident in a home in Peabody.
‘Unfortunately we have faced the worst fear in our lives,’ wrote Ahliana’s parents, Scott Dickey and Stephanie Wetherbee, in a GoFundMe page for her.

‘One of our children was brutally taken from us our beautiful daughter Ahliana Dickey.
‘Only 15 years old, a beautiful young lady who has the most beautiful soul. I can’t believe we have to stomach this and bring our minds to write something like this.’
Her parents called Bady a ‘monster, coward who took an innocent life’.
