A group, the Gamji Members Association (GAMA) has appealed to leaders across the board to intensify efforts at ameliorating the sufferings of the masses.
GAMA noted that Nigerian masses were groaning under the yoke of high cost of living, exorbitant hospital bills and insecurity in parts of the country.
The association made the appeal in a Sallah message signed by its President General, Alh. Tunde Akanbi and Publicity Secretary, Alh. Abdullahi Olesin in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
While acknowledging the efforts of both the federal and state governments at mitigating the high cost of living through the distribution of palliatives to the people, GAMA urged the government to find ways of bringing down the prices of foodstuff as a permanent solution.
The association rejoiced with the Muslims across the world on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir and enjoined them to allow the lessons of sacrifice and perseverance exemplified by the festival to reflect in their conduct and ways of life.
The association further urged them to use the joyous occasion to pray for peace, stability and economic buoyancy for Nigeria, and reminded them that Islam enjoins offering prayers for leaders by the faithful.
GAMA also congratulated the Muslim pilgrims across the globe on the successful holding of Arafat and other hajj rites in Saudi Arabia.
It prayed God to grant the pilgrims safe trip back to their various destinations.
