Rishi Sunak says he knows what it’s like to have to struggle- because he wasn’t allowed Sky TV growing up.
In an excruciating interview set to air tonight on ITV, the PM laughed awkwardly as he attempted to relate to the everyday struggles of ordinary people.

Presenter Paul Brand asked Mr Sunak ‘have you ever gone without something?’, which the PM attempted to avoid.
‘Oh, we went without lots of things because my parents wanted to put everything into our education and that was a priority,’ he said.
But when pressed to give an example, Rishi responded: ‘All sorts of things like lots of people. There’ll be all sorts of things that I would’ve wanted as a kid that I couldn’t have.’

He added: ‘Famously, Sky TV, so that was something that we never had growing up actually.’
Sunak went to one of the country’s most expensive boarding schools, and he and his wife are the richest political leaders in UK history with a combined wealth of £651 million- more than the King.
Elsewhere in the interview Sunak warned voters not to give Labour a ‘blank cheque’ at next month’s election and claimed Keir Starmer could ‘rig the electoral system’ to stay in power for ‘a long time’.
