A British tourist hijacked a truck and smashed through a toll gate in a terrifying rampage in Bali.

Damon Anthony Alexander Hills is facing up to nine years in prison after he allegedly forced his way into a parked truck before driving the vehicle toward the Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai.

The 50-year-old even kicked out the sleeping driver of the truck before launching into the terrifying rampage.

Footage shows the vehicle speeding along the highway as police and motorists chase after him along the Bali Mandara Toll Road.

He then smashed through a toll gate but fled with officers in hot pursuit.

Damon was reported to have breached the gate of the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, where he fled into the international terminal building and was cornered by the police.

Images show him with a battered face and his hands bound in yellow rope.

Inspector Putu Sukarma, Head of Public Relations Subdivision of Badung Police, said: ‘He took over the truck in a very rough manner.

‘He opened the truck door then hit, grabbed and kicked the driver until he was thrown out of the truck.
