England’s preparations for their Euro 2024 campaign are ramping up with two friendly games taking place against Bosnia and Iceland this week.

The Three Lions are just under two weeks out from their first group stage fixture, with the warm-up clashes set be pivotal in helping Gareth Southgate whittle down his squad.

A total of 33 players have been named in the provisional training squad, with Southgate having until Friday night to settle on his final list of 26 players.

Regardless of which players make the cut, England are seemingly well-placed, on paper at least, to end their long trophy drought which has spanned almost 60 years.

Here is your full guide to following England at Euro 2024, including the all-important date of their first game ahead of the start of the competition on June 14.

Who is in the provisional England squad for Euro 2024?

Southgate named a provisional 33-man squad on Tuesday, May 21.

Amongst the notable inclusions were the uncapped Liverpool pair of Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah, as well as Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton and Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford.

There was no place for Marcus Rashford or Jordan Henderson, however, as the likes of Anthony Gordon and Kobbie Mainoo were awarded spots in the squad in their absence.

Defenders: Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton), Lewis Dunk (Brighton), Joe Gomez (Liverpool), Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace), Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa), Harry Maguire (Man Utd), Jarell Quansah (Liverpool), Luke Shaw (Man Utd), John Stones (Man City), Kieran Trippier (Newcastle), Kyle Walker (Man City)

Southgate must whittle down his numbers to 26 by Friday, June 7, with changes only allowed up until until the start of Euro 2024 if a player is forced to withdraw due to injury.

The squad cap had originally been reduced from 26 to the traditional 23 for the tournament, with three extra players allowed at Euro 2020 and the World Cup 2022 to help deal with the effects of the pandemic.

However, UEFA have kept the squad cap at 26 for Euro 2024 in what looks likely to be the precedent for all UEFA international competitions moving forwards.

What TV channel will England’s Euro 2024 games be on?

England’s first two matches against Serbia and Denmark will be shown live on the BBC, with ITV showing the third group game against Slovenia.

Fans will also be able to live stream the action on BBC iPlayer and ITVX respectively.

What is the furthest England has ever got at the Euros?

England’s best performance in the European Championships was the runners-up spot from three years ago, when they were beaten on penalties by Italy following a 1-1 draw after extra-time.

The Three Lions were infamously knocked-out at the semi-final stage of their home tournament at Euro 96, with Germany emerging triumphant on penalties at Wembley.

The only other time England have reached the last four was in 1968 when they finished third.

What are England’s odds to win Euro 2024?

England have been installed as the favourites to win Euro 2024 at 3/1 with SkyBet, ahead of the likes of France (4/1), Germany (9/2) and Portugal and Spain (both 8/1).

The home design features a red and blue trim on the end of the sleeves and blue panels down the side of the shirt.

The home kit has created all sorts of controversy, however, with the changes to the St. George’s Cross on the back of the collar causing outrage amongst many in the country.

The away kit, meanwhile, is purple with ‘unconventional side panels’ which feature seven different colours in ‘a nod to English fashion’.
