The bank holiday could cause some disruption if you’re looking to send something in the post (Picture: Dinendra Haria/REX/Shutterstock)
We may not be having three bank holidays this May following the King’s coronation last year, but we’ve still got one more bank holiday weekend to look forward to this month.
We’ve already had the Early May Bank Holiday on the first Monday, and now the Spring Bank Holiday on the last Monday of the month is right around the corner.
Of course, most people love a bank holiday and the possibility of an extra day off work, but it can scupper your admin slightly. For example, many services close for the day.
Expecting a parcel or an important letter? Or needing to send out a birthday card? Here’s what you need to know about post office opening hours this bank holiday…
Will post offices be open bank holiday Monday?
Unfortunately there’s no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as local post office branches could be open on Monday as they’re able to set their own hours.
Plus, it’s common for post offices to be located inside convenience stores or other shops, which are also likely to be open even if the post office part of the business is closed for the day.
However, one certainty is that there won’t be any Royal Mail collections or deliveries on the bank holiday Monday.
This means the earliest you can expect your post is Tuesday, May 28.
