Hunt for knifeman after woman, 34, stabbed to death on Bournemouth beach

A woman has died after being stabbed on a beach in Bournemouth.

The 34-year-old was declared dead at the scene after being knifed on Durley Chine Beach at around 11.45pm on Friday.

A second woman, aged 38, was rushed to hospital with what police described as ‘very serious injuries’ sustained in the same incident.

Both of the women are believed to be from nearby Poole. Their next of kin have been informed.

Police have launched a murder investigation, with the beach cordoned off while they search the area.

Superintendent Gavin House said: ‘Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the woman who very tragically lost her life.

‘Officers are searching the area, but no arrests have been made at this time. A full and detailed investigation is underway.

‘I would ask anyone who saw what happened or has any information about the offender and has not yet spoken to officers to please contact us urgently.’

He said there will be an increased police presence in the area in the next few day.
