A woman who was assisting her friend in moving a grand piano suffered a freak accident and has been paralyzed.

Danielle Drummond, 28, was asked by her friend to help move the musical instrument. Drummond bent over to put something underneath, when the piano slipped and her friend lost control.

‘She dropped like a whole upright grand piano on me, and it severed my spinal cord,’ Drummond told WOIO over the weekend. ‘Now, I’m paralyzed from the waist down.’

Drummond underwent an emergency surgery and doctors told her she would be wheelchair-bound.

‘I’m trying to keep like in high spirits because I know this is my life now, but it’s hard,’ said Drummond. ‘As of right now I need a lot more physical therapy. I need to rebuild my strength.’
