The women’s football ace, who plays for the Liga F giants, will welcome guests to the high profile awards event with a keynote speech highlighting the exciting growth of the sport.
Weir, who also won two FA Cups and two League Cups with Manchester City, and has received 102 caps for Scotland, is one of the biggest names in world football.
The 28-year-old, who will join hosts Eni Aluko and Jamie Carragher at the star-studded ceremony on May 30, said: ‘I am very excited to be opening the 2024 SHEIN Women’s Football Awards.
‘Having been on the judging panel last year, I was delighted to be asked to be part of this event which celebrates the successes of some of the best women’s football players in the world, as well as the people and organisations working hard to grow the game.
‘It’s been another incredible year for the women’s game, with plenty of progress made on and off the pitch. However, it’s important that we continue to shine a spotlight on areas of improvement and advocate for equal access to opportunities and resources for women and girls globally.
‘This year’s Women’s Football Awards is set to be bigger than ever. I am looking forward to joining the brilliant Eni and Jamie and the rest of the team on 30 May and celebrating with all of the winners.’
