Former Niger State governor, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, has lost his mother, Hajiya Jamila Aliyu.
She died during a brief illness on Monday evening and was buried yesterday in Minna according to Islamic rites in a prayer led by the chief imam of Minna, Sheik Ibrahim Isah Fari.
The governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago, led dignitaries to the burial prayers and condoled with the former governor over the incident.
Also at the burial were the emir of Lapai, Umar Bago, the emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Farouk Bahago, the emir of Kagara, Ahmed Attahiru Guna, Senator Mohammed Sani Musa and the deputy governor Comrade Yakubu Garba.
A former deputy governor of the state, Ahmed Mohammed Ketso, also condoled Aliyu over the demise of his mother.
Ketso described the deceased as a “fulfilled disciplinarian, peaceful, focused and visionary personality who was a mother to all.”
