Manchester United’s dreadful season got even worse on Monday night when they were humiliated 4-0 at Crystal Palace.
The pressure on Erik ten Hag’s side was already huge, but this latest disaster-class may well be the final nail in the coffin for the manager and many of his players.
The defeat at Selhurst Park also condemned United to their 13th Premier League loss of the season – the most they have ever had.
And with just three league games of the season left, as well as the FA Cup final, there are plenty more unwanted and embarrassing records the Red Devils could break:
What records have Man Utd already broken?
As mentioned, 13 Premier League defeats in a season breaks the previous record of 12 that was set during the 2013/14 and 2021/22 campaigns.
The defeat to Palace was also their biggest loss of the season so far, with goals from Michael Olise (two), Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell securing the Eagles’ first league double over the Red Devils.
Ten Hag’s time in charge has been marred by heavy defeats, with Monday’s match the third time since he took over that United have lost an away game by four goals or more – in the same time only Nottingham Forest can top that.

It’s not just in the Premier League where United have been floundering, with their humiliating exit from the Champions League group stage marking the first time the club had finished bottom of their group since 2006.
Moreover, they recorded just five points from six games, their lowest tally ever, and conceded 15 goals, shattering the previous record for an English club.
What records could Man Utd still break?
Could it get worse for United? Absolutely.
As it stands, they are eighth in the table and if they stay there, they will not only miss out on European qualification but also record their lowest finish in the Premier League.

The previous record is seventh from the 2013/14 season, but with the table being as close as it is, United could finish anywhere from fifth to 10th this campaign.
2021/22, the season prior to Ten Hag’s arrival, saw United record their lowest points return in the Premier League era with just 58. They currently have 54 meaning there is every chance the Dutchman will (unthinkably) leave Old Trafford in a worst position than he found it.
That campaign also saw the club record their fewest number of wins with just 16, and while they have already reached that figure and therefore cannot break that record, failure to win any of their final three games will see them at least equal the feat.

57 goals were also conceded that season in the league, and that record will surely be smashed as United have currently shipped 55 goals.
Furthermore, they have now conceded 81 goals in all competitions, their most since the 1976/77 season, though the all-time record of 115 in 1930/31 is most likely out of reach.
However, United have not finished a season on negative goal difference since the 1989/90 campaign in Division One. As it stands, United are on -3, with their worst goal difference being 0 set in the – you guessed it – 2021/22 season.

United will struggle to avoid breaking some of these records, especially as their next game is against title-chasing Arsenal on Sunday at Old Trafford.
Following that, there’s a huge clash against Newcastle next Wednesday, a game that could well decide who plays in the Europa League next season.
On the final day of the Premier League season (19 May), United have a tricky trip to Brighton, and just six days later they travel to Wembley for the FA Cup final against rivals Manchester City.
