Numerous tornadoes plowed through Texas, leaving a trail of destruction and injuring at least two people.
Twisters descended across the Lone Star State on Thursday evening
‘We’ve had multiple confirmed tornadoes this evening,’ wrote the National Weather Service office in San Angelo X (formerly Twitter) at 6.40pm local time. ‘Please stay weather aware and make sure you have a way to receive warnings!’
Despite the warning, several storm chasers and onlookers recorded terrifying footage of the storm system.

Videos shared by Dylan Colin via Storyful showed a massive brown tornado in the distance with a funnel high above the ground approaching a home. Debris flew in a circular motion in all directions below the dark cloud cover.
Another clip zooms in and out on a twister and reveals another man recording from the vehicle parked on a road.

Yet another clip shows a man stepping outside the vehicle and taking a selfie with the approaching tornado.
Dramatic footage shows a small lighting strike near a twister and another huge bolt. A man gets back into the vehicle. They eventually start driving away.
One tornado struck west of Anson shortly after 6.30pm and traveled south to Truby, Hodges and Hawley. About 50 minutes later, the twister ravaged Country Road 494 and the area of Tye. It dissipated, but hail the size of baseballs rained down, a witness said, according to the Daily Mail.

The tornadoes struck less than a week after a tornado obliterated homes in Omaha, Nebraska, and cut power for 10,000 residents.
Over the weekend, tornadoes killed at least four people including a child in Oklahoma.
Tornado season in the US continues for several more months. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has created a tornado probability map from severe weather reports from 1982 to 2011 that shows some of the areas most prone to twisters are Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas.
