Olly Murs cancelled his performance in Glasgow just minutes before doors to the venue were scheduled to open.

The singer, 39, was scheduled to open for Take That at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow Friday night as a part of the band’s This Life On tour, but fans were informed just before the concert that Murs would not be there.

His absence has been blamed on unforeseen transport complications.

The pop singer-songwriter found himself stranded at London’s Heathrow Airport since 11 am this morning, following the cancellation of his flight to Glasgow.

Expressing his sincere apologies to disappointed fans, Murs conveyed his frustration at the situation, assuring them he was going to do everything in his power to make it to the Hydro stage for Saturday and Sunday night’s performances.

He posted on social media: ‘So sorry to everyone at the @takethat show tonight in Glasgow, unfortunately I won’t be there.’

He then recounted the series of delays and a subsequent cancellation of his British Airways flight, leading to his unprecedented absence from the gig.

Despite the setback, Murs remained determined to honor his commitment to fans in Glasgow, embarking on a lengthy six-hour car journey to ensure his presence for the remaining shows.

Meanwhile, the OVO Hydro issued an apology to ticket holders via social media, citing ‘unforeseen circumstances beyond anyone’s control’ as the cause for Murs’ cancellation.
