Appeal to find teenager who vanished from home at night

A search is ongoing to trace a teenager who went missing from her home in Liverpool in the middle of the night.

Leona Derbyshire, 17, vanished from her home in Liverpool today.

The teenager was last spotted in the Kirkdale area north of the city centre at about 12.50am today Friday May 3.

Now the police are appealing for help to find her.

She is described as a white female, 5ft 2in tall, of slim build, with shoulder length brown hair and grey-green eyes.

Last time she was seen, Leona was wearing a black knee length bubble coat, long sleeve grey t-shirt, grey leggings and grey Balenciaga trainers.

She is known to frequent the Kirkby, Merseyside, and Wrexham, Cheshire and Wigan in Greater Manchester.

Anyone with sightings or information of Leona is asked to pass it on to Merseyside Police online or via X (formerly Twitter) at MerPolCC or by calling 101.
