In a significant move toward participatory governance, Plateau State governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has unveiled a new e-governance platform on Monday.
This innovative tool was designed to enhance transparency, efficiency, and public accountability in government operations.
During the launch, Governor Mutfwang expressed his enthusiasm for the platform, stating, “Today marks a pivotal step in our journey towards transparent governance. This platform will revolutionize how citizens and government interact, ensuring that the voices of the Plateau people are heard clearly and responded to promptly.”
Funded by a donation from Mr. Hephzibah Integrated Technologies Ltd., the platform is accessible through the toll-free number 08000005555 and online at [http://egov.plateaustate.gov.ng/](http://egov.plateaustate.gov.ng/).
It invites citizens to provide feedback, request services, and directly engage with various government agencies, fostering a more responsive administration.
“The e-governance platform not only enables efficient service delivery but also provides a direct line of communication between the government and its citizens, thereby increasing transparency and accountability,” explained Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the governor.
Governor Mutfwang further encouraged the public to actively use the platform, emphasising its role in enhancing governmental responsiveness.
“I urge all Plateau citizens to take advantage of this platform to inform us about their needs, share their opinions on policies, and inquire about services. Your engagement is crucial for our collective success,” he added.
Operated by the Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA) under the leadership of Mr. Datong Dominic Gwamnan, the platform promises to be a cornerstone in achieving a more efficient, transparent, and participatory governance model.
As the state embraces this digital shift, the benefits outlined by Governor Mutfwang included improved communication and engagement with citizens, increased convenience, and significant cost savings for the government and the residents of Plateau State.
