Ministry, FMBN Meet On Delivery Affordable Housing

Management of Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) and the minister of housing and urban development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, have met to advance the goals of affordable housing delivery as well as fashion out plans for effective collaboration between them.

The managing director of FMBN, Mr. Shehu Osidi, who received the task teams of the organisations at the headquarters of the Bank in Abuja, said the visit underscored the importance of collaboration between the task teams and housing agencies in achieving the aims and objectives of the teams’ assignment.

Osidi said the bank has recognised the need for reforms and has taken the initiative to commence a journey of repositioning and capitalization in conjunction with the Bureau of Public Enterprises in order to enable it stay true to its mandate of affordable mortgage financing.

While commending the visitors for their commitment to spearheading crucial reforms of housing institutions under the ministry, the FMBN boss said the task teams had been entrusted with the responsibility of reshaping the landscape of home ownership financing in Nigeria as well as advancing the goals of affordable housing and urban development.

He reiterated the commitment of the FMBN to supporting the task teams in fulfilling the ministry’s dream, which he said, is crucial for sustainable development and improvement of the quality of life of all citizens.

The two teams which visited the banks are the Housing Reform Task Teams, led by its chairman, Mr. Adedeji Adesemoye and the Multi-Agency Project Delivery Task Team led by Major-Gen. Tunde Reiis who was represented by Chioma Wogu-Ogbonna.
