Customers of the UK’s most famous high-end supermarket chain may want to exercise a little caution before tucking into their favourite salty snacks this weekend.
The Food Standards Agency has issued a warning for Waitrose’s Pitted Spanish Queen Olives amid fears small bits of glass may have found their way into some of the products.
The warning is in place for those customers who have purchased any 113g sized packages of the product with a best before date of December 2025.
Those who have bought such items are urged to return them to their nearest Waitrose branch.
In a statement, the Food Standards Agency said: ‘Waitrose & Partners are recalling the above product. The company has issued a recall notice to its customers.
‘These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
‘If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.’

It’s not the only case of an item being recalled so far this year.
Waitrose and Sainsbury’s customers were urged to check their cupboards after a recall notice was issued in March for containers of Patak’s Aubergine Pickle, again for fears the items may have contained small pieces of glass.
