Russian missile strike incinerates massive Ukraine power plant

This is the harrowing moment Vladimir Putin incinerated one of the largest power stations in Ukraine.

Russia is exploiting the depleting stocks of the US-supplied Patriot air defence system used to fend off the barrage of complex missiles.

Footage showed a fire raging inside the coal-fired Trypilska Thermal Power Plant (TPP), which supplies half of Kyiv’s energy.

Flames engulfed the entire building in the early hours of this morning, ‘completely destroying’ it.

Plumes of black smoke reached the sky above the Ukrainian capital as the station continued to burn for hours after the strike.

There were no casualties, and the attack has not resulted in power cuts in Kyiv or other regions supplied by Trypilska TPP.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a visit to Lithuania today, listing regions hit in the barrage: ‘We need to speak about air defence. It is the biggest challenge today.’

The Kremlin has escalated its campaign that has devastated the country’s energy infrastructure in recent weeks.
