The shortlist of all the best employers in the UK has highlighted the best places to work in the UK
If there’s anyone who knows an excellent employer when they see one, it’s the judges of this year’s Employer’s Excellence Awards.
The ceremony celebrates Britain’s best employers, including industry leaders and groups demonstrating top-notch workplace practices.
Ahead of the ceremony on 13 June in Liverpool, ceremony organisers have now revealed a shortlist of all the businesses and leaders nominated for awards.
Public nominations closed in early April, and it seems some big names such as VISA, McDonald’s, Standard Chartered and EA Sports are in the running.
Some of the 19 categories include those committed to the environment, diversity and innovation.
Deborah Arthurs, Editor-in-chief of Metro, said: ‘This is an incredible shortlist highlighting some of the very best businesses and employment practices in the UK. It is a remarkable achievement to be shortlisted.

Quooker, Three Mobile, KPMG, Savills and the mid-tier financial advisory service Sedulo are among the companies shortlisted for the coveted Outstanding Employer of the Year award.
To voters, each company name has committed to supporting the well-being of staff and helping them climb the ranks.
In the Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility category, ScottishPower, Arnold Clark, eToro, RWinvest and Xero have been nominated.
Corporate names shortlisted for Workplace Hero include Pips Bunce of Credit Suisse, Rishi Jain at Liverpool Football Club and Anna Deignan of the Premier League.
An array of non-profits, charities and family-owned brands have also been nominated.
But the awards don’t just spotlight employers. The achievements of the people behind the logos – the business innovators and workplace heroes – are also being celebrated.

Cui He of fast-fashion retailer SHEIN, Rick Jackson at delivery giant DHL and Donna Scully of the legal firm Carpenters are all shortlisted for the prestigious Inspirational Leader of the Year prize.
Catherine Forshaw at law firm Brabners and social housing developer Brantones boss Lee Birkett also make the cut.
