Martin Odegaard has warned Harry Kane that while Arsenal ‘respect’ him they don’t ‘fear’ the Bayern Munich striker ahead of their huge Champions League clash.
Arsenal travel to Munich on Tuesday night for what will be their first UCL quarter-final since 2010.
The two sides have met several times in the competition before, with each of their last three meetings infamously ending in 5-1 victories for the German giants.
But now the tables have turned, with Arsenal in sensational form which has propelled them to the top of the Premier League, while Bayern are set to miss out on the Bundesliga title for 12 years following an awful campaign.
The Champions League is the only trophy left that Thomas Tuchel’s side can win, but for all their faults this season, Kane has not been one of them, with the England captain breaking goalscoring records for fun.
Since his £81.5million move from Tottenham last summer, the striker has found the back of the net 38 times in 37 games and provided 12 assists.
If that weren’t enough, Kane has also scored 14 times against the Gunners in 19 games for Spurs, making him the top goal-scorer in North London Derby history.

The 30-year-old could be the difference maker in the tie, but Arsenal captain Odegaard is confident they can deal with him, saying, as quoted by TNT Sports: ‘[He’s] a good player, of course, and I have played against him a few times and we know the quality he has in the box and he is also good in the link up.
‘We are facing a good team on Tuesday. I think we should respect him but I don’t think we should fear anyone and we should focus on ourselves and the quality we have in our team. And that is all.’
Given their contrasting forms, Arsenal are the favourites to win the tie, with the victor set to play either Manchester City or Real Madrid in the semi-finals, but Odegaard is not underestimating the opposition.

‘[They have] really good individual players as well. It will be a tough battle, but we are ready.
‘Every game we play there are some good challenges and we play in the best league in the world. They are a good team and [have] a lot of good attacking players and it will be a big night.’
