Paul Merson has revealed who he believes will win the Premier League as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City battle to become English champions in a thrilling title race.
Liverpool face arch-rivals Manchester United on Sunday and need to respond after Arsenal beat Brighton and Man City beat Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The title race is technically in Liverpool’s hands as they bid to lift the Premier League trophy in Jurgen Klopp’s final season at Anfield, but there could yet be plenty of twists and turns in one of the best title races in history.
Arsenal moved, temporarily at least, to the top of the table with a 3-0 win over Brighton on Saturday evening. The Gunners are attempting to win the league title for the first time in 20 years, having finished second last season.
Manchester City, meanwhile, are going for a record fourth successive Premier League title and back-to-back trebles after also winning the Champions League and FA Cup last term. Pep Guardiola’s side won 4-2 at Palace.
Revealing his prediction for the title race, Merson told Sky Sports: ‘I would say it’s the best title race we’ve seen. Three teams in it with a month to go.

‘You could stop 100 people in the street today and ask them for their prediction and get a split of 30-30-40.
‘It’s so tight but it could change really quickly, if one team goes bang, crash wallop then that’s it for them. The pressure is really on. I must feel Liverpool at the moment, I think they are the ones at the moment.’
Despite tipping Liverpool to become Premier League champions, Merson believes his former club Arsenal have favourable fixtures as they look to lift the title for the first time since 2004.

‘I quite like Arsenal’s fixtures, I like them,’ Merson added. ‘I think Brighton was the game, they can turn up and beat anybody.
‘Wolves will let them play, Chelsea are a bag of nails, the Tottenham game suits them because they will have a go, Bournemouth at home is a good game, Man United might not be anything by then and Everton could be one of the easiest final games every if they’re safe by then.
‘So I like Arsenal’s fixtures. I don’t see Man City losing another game but Liverpool and Arsenal are just relentless.’
