Kate Middleton was forced to reveal her cancer diagnosis after her medical records were leaked, according to a new report.

The Princess of Wales confirmed she is undergoing ‘preventative chemotherapy’ for an unknown form of cancer in a video message to the nation on March 22, following weeks of speculation about her health.

But Kensington Palace reportedly rushed to get ahead of the news after the Princesses’ medical records were accessed by an unknown person, a royal source told the Daily Mail.

The royal couple had been contacted about Kate’s diagnosis, which left them no option but to go public with the story, the outlet reported in a column by Ephrain Hardcastle.

It is unclear who is responsible for the leak, or whether the information was obtained during Kate’s stay at the London Clinic for abdoninal surgery in January or elsewhere.

The Princess of Wales eventually made her diagnosis public after social media had become awash with conspiracy theories and rumours about her health following her prolonged absence from the public eye.

It followed previous speculation that she had previously held off on revealing her condition to the public in order to give her children time to process the news.
