Marcus Rashford could match a somewhat undesirable England record if he plays against Belgium on Tuesday night.
Following the underwhelming 1-0 loss against Brazil last Saturday, the Three Lions return to Wembley to take on the Red Devils in their final friendly of the March international break.
It is also the final game before Gareth Southgate selects his squad for Euro 2024, with the likes of Rashford keen to impress and solidify a place on the plane to Germany.
The Manchester United star is not guaranteed to go to the tournament having endured a difficult season for his club, with just eight goals in 35 appearances so far.
Despite his experience, the 26-year-old’s spot is under threat from the likes of Cole Palmer, Jarrod Bowen and Anthony Gordon, with the Newcastle forward handed his international debut against Brazil.
Gordon was chosen to start ahead of Rashford, who was eventually subbed on for the Magpies star in the 75th minute.
That was the 34th time that Rashford has been subbed on for England, and as a result he is now just one more cameo appearance away from matching a Three Lions record.

The honour of most substitute appearances for England is currently held by Jermain Defoe who came off the bench for his country 35 times from 2004 to 2017.
The former Tottenham striker, who has received a nomination to the Premier League Hall of Fame, scored 20 goals in 57 caps.

Curiously, Rashford currently has similar stats with 17 goals in 60 caps since his debut in 2016.
While matching Defoe’s record is probably not what Rashford has in mind, being a supersub for England would be fantastic for Southgate whose side lacked a cutting edge in the final third against Brazil.
