Luke Littler took the opportunity to rub salt in Jurgen Klopp’s wounds after Manchester United secured a dramatic victory over Liverpool on Sunday.

Amad Diallo’s extra-time winner secured a famous win for United against arch-rivals Liverpool and put Erik ten Hag’s side into the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

The defeat also ended Liverpool’s hopes of a historic quadruple in Klopp’s last season before departing Anfield.

And teenage darts sensation Littler, who is a boyhood United fan, didn’t miss out on the opportunity to take a dig at the departing German manager on social media.

In a since-deleted post on X, formerly Twitter, the 17-year-old shared a post which said: ‘What is the difference between Luke Littler and Jurgen Klopp? Littler has more trebles.’

Despite their FA Cup exit, however, Klopp does still have a chance to end his time at Liverpool with a treble.

The Reds have already lifted silverware this season after their Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea in February.

His side also remain join-top of the Premier League with Arsenal and a single point ahead of Manchester City poised with just 10 games remaining.

In the Europa League, Liverpool cruised past Sparta Prague with an 11-2 aggregate victory to set up a quarter-final tie with Atalanta.

Littler, meanwhile, has continued his remarkable level of performance since his breakthrough run at the World Championships over Christmas, winning the Bahrain Darts Masters in January followed by a recent triumph at the Belgian Darts Open earlier in March.
