Princess Kate Middleton was replaced during the Irish Guards parade as she continues recovering from ‘abdominal surgery’.
The Princess of Wales is honorary colonel of the regiment, and posted a St Patrick’s Day message as she’s missing the events this year.
She is being replaced with Lady Ghika, wife of the regiment’s Major General Sir Chris Ghika.
In a video shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’s official X account, they said: ‘Happy St Patrick’s Day!. Here’s a sneak peak of the Irish Guards rehearsing for their annual parade.
‘Sláinte to all those celebrating today!’
Kate first took over the role from Prince William in 2023.
