Friends of Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, reportedly anticipate she will speak openly about her health when she returns to public engagements.
Kate Middleton underwent surgery for an unknown condition at the London Clinic on January 16, at the same time as King Charles was receiving treatment at the same facility.
She’s not expected to return to official duties until after the Easter holidays.
Confidants of the Prince and Princess of Wales have been quoted by The Sunday Times as saying she will return to public engagements sometime after April 17, and that more information about her health will be provided then.
One source said: ‘They are at their most open when out interacting with members of the public and I can see a world in which the princess might discuss her recovery out on engagements.
‘If she was going to do it, that’s how she would do it.’

Another added: ‘They will want to be clear and more open, but they’ll do it when they feel ready.
‘I would expect that to be her instinct and it will be her call. They’re not going to be rushed.’
The newspaper further reports that Prince William will likely step away from public duties during the holiday.
The only details of Middleton’s trip to the London Clinic earlier this year are that it was for abdominal surgery, and that she spent approximately two weeks at the facility before returning to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor to recuperate.
Kensington Palace has since said that the issue was not cancer-related, amid speculation following the announcement of King Charles’ own cancer diagnosis not long after he was treated for an enlarged prostate at the same clinic.
The Sunday Times adds that the Prince and Princess of Wales will continue to release photographs to mark their children’s birthdays.

Middleton recently apologised for photoshopping a family picture that was issued by Kensington Palace on Mother’s Day last year.
The Princess issued a statement on social media which read: ‘Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.
‘I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.’

The palace has since said it will not be issuing the unedited photograph, fuelling speculation about the true state of the Princess’s health that has itself been described as damaging to public trust in the royal family, as well as fuelling a number of outlandish conspiracy theories online.
These include that Middleton is actually one of the newest contestants on the TV gameshow The Masked Singer, as well as that she is currently recovering from a BBL or ‘Brazilian butt lift’ procedure.
