Car crashes into walls of Windsor Castle

A Volvo has crashed into the bottom of Windsor Castle in the early hours of today

A car has crashed into the walls of Windsor Castle.

Pictures show the front of a Volvo crumpled against the front royal residence on Thames Street.

Two other vehicles were also involved.

Police and ambulances close the road off at the castle.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson, said: ‘Thames Valley Police received a report of a road traffic collision at 7.50am this morning (12/3) on Thames Street, Windsor.

‘The road is expected to be closed for some time.

‘Anyone with information is asked to contact the force by calling 101 or making a report online quoting reference number 43240115038.’

It comes after a car crashed into the main entrance of Buckingham Palace on Sunday.

Armed police were seen swarming the vehicle while a man was arrested for criminal damage.

Thames Valley Police has closed off the road

She hasn’t been seen in public since she she underwent abdominal surgery nearly two months ago, stirring speculation about her well-being.

She has been recovering from her operation in Windsor, but posted an edited photograph of herself and her three children, George, Charlotte and Louis on Mother’s Day.

In a post on X the Princess of Wales said: ‘Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.

‘I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C’

Windsor castle was the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II before she died in 2022.
