London buskers have revealed the weirdest things they have been given
Londoners are turning to some more unusual forms of tipping buskers, leaving musicians only slightly terrified.
As the cost of living crisis continues to tighten its grip around the nation’s pockets, London’s finest street performers are having to make do with a lack of spare change being thrown their way.
Instead performers are emptying their guitar cases to find mysterious creamy substances, shoplifted phone cases, and even pictures of themselves.
‘I have no idea why people think to take a picture of me, print it out and leave it in my case,’ singer and guitarist Francesco Nasone, 32, told Metro.
‘I know they are being nice – and even little romantic – but it is a little strange.’
Some things left behind are sadly not always identifiable.
Guitarist Motarga, 34, said he has been left what he thinks was face cream, while electric cello player Alison Gabrielle has been left what appeared to be half eaten candy floss.
Others are gifted stolen stolen items they then have to return.

Singer Debbie Chazen said a man shoplifted items around Waterloo station before leaving them in her bag, including 15 phone cases.
‘But the phone stall said they didn’t want them back, so now I have a ridiculous amount of phone cases just sitting in my house,’ she told Metro.

‘They don’t even fit the model of my phone.’
In true British form, buskers are also being left nice alcoholic beverages to get them through the hours they spend at the microphone.
Cedar Rose Johnson, 23, said she has been left cans of cocktails, while male buskers say lager is one of the most common offerings left to them.

Thankfully, it is not all bad, with one teenager coincidentally singing a Bastille song as the band walked past.
Just hours later she sang with them in front of thousands.
‘I was just singing the song Happier to a crowd on the street, and then I looked up and I just saw the entire band standing there and watching me,’ Macy Owen, 19, said.
‘They told me I sang the song better than they did and asked me if I wanted to come up on stage with them later that night.
‘So I sang the same song with them in front of thousands of people – it was one of the best moments of my life.’
