Apple’s new upgrade has come under fire after users became concerned about the battery life.
iOS 17.4 is now officially available to download, but some people have taken to social media to warn others that the new update is draining their battery life.
On X, Ash said their battery life is ‘Way worse. I regret upgrading to the 17.4. Battery health was previously 98%, currently sitting on 93%.’
Another user, Davor, said: ‘My experience is that the battery drains faster after the iOS 17.4 update.’
A third user Robert, said (or whistled): “*whistles* good golly iOS 17.4 is burning through the battery significantly faster than 17.3.x did.
‘Before last two tweets I was at 41%, now 28%’.
Brent posted: ‘Started the #iOS 17.4 update at 54% battery life, down to 35% and still preparing the update… maybe it’s time to upgrade this year (from my 11). Wait, 33%, no, 32% now.’

But if you’re finding that your iPhone battery life is draining quicker, don’t worry.
A new iOS update often drains the battery due to the big changes that are now being introduced to your phone.
This could last anywhere between a few hours to a day, depending on how old your phone is and the bandwidth of your connection.
Larger updates often affect your battery more than smaller updates, and for many people, the new iOS 17.4 update has brought about some major changes.
Firstly, 118 new emojis have been introduced to the emoji world, including a brown mushroom, a phoenix and a lime.
The new update reveals your battery cycle count, to provide an indication of how many times your battery has been fully charged and discharged.
Another major change from the update is for those in the European Union, who can install apps from alternative app marketplaces, install different web browsers, and use alternative payment options for apps in the App Store.
