Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith has given an update on his niece’s health, confirming she is getting the ‘best care in the world’.

Mr Goldsmith, who has recently entered Celebrity Big Brother, discussed the Royal Family to his fellow housemates.

It comes after speculation has been growing over the Princess of Wales after she underwent abdominal surgery in January.

Fellow Big Brother contestant Ekin-Su Culculoglu asked Mr Goldsmith: ‘Where’s Kate?’

He replied: ‘Because she doesn’t want to talk about… the last thing I’m going to do is… there’s a kind of code of etiquette.

‘If it’s announced, I’ll give you an opinion. I spoke to her mum, my sister, she’s getting the best care in the world.

‘And all the family’s done is put the wagons round and look after family first before anything else. They put a statement out and just said, “She’s taking some time to (recuperate) and will see you in Easter”.’

Mr Goldsmith also praised the Prince of Wales for how he has handled Prince Harry stepping back from life as a working royal.

He said: ‘He’s done an amazing job… in that horrible situation.

‘He’s had an olive branch open every time for Harry to come back and be part of the gang.’

As he entered the compound, Gary was asked whether Kate would be watching as she recuperates at home following abdominal surgery.

He replied: ‘If she is it will be behind a sofa, I guess.’

In a video tape aired before he entered the house, Gary said of his niece: ‘She is simply perfect.

‘First time I met William, Catherine was cooking and William said, “Hi, do you want a cup of tea?” Very normal.’

His entrance comes after confusion from BB fans who thought he wasn’t set to enter the house at all, despite weeks of speculation.
