Jaskirat Kaur, 33, has been accused of murdering her daughter
A mum who was charged with murdering her 10-year-old daughter has been pictured for the first time.
Jaskirat Kaur is accused of killing little Shay, who was discovered with catastrophic injuries in their home in Rowley Regis, West Midlands.
The 33-year-old appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court as a video of her daughter playing with friends was released.
Footage shows Shay goofing around with a cuddly soft toy and prancing around a living room among friends.

She was described as a ‘happy and wonderful kid’ by a neighbour from the nearby town of Smethwick.
The woman, who knew the mum and daughter before the pair moved to Rowley Regis, told the Daily Mail she is ‘heartbroken’ by what happened.
‘My eyes have been sore from all of the crying I have done’, she said.
‘She was such a lovely girl. I just couldn’t believe the news.’

A woman who said she was Shay’s godmother posted on social media that her ‘heart hurts’ following the tragedy.
In a series of emotional Facebook posts, Kayleigh Colclough, who shared a flat with Kaur and her daughter in Smethwick, wrote: ‘I took them in and they lived with me for five years.
‘I wouldn’t say I’m much of a godmother now I let you down but I promise you I will get you justice.
‘I promise you I will get justice for Shay. I’m grieving for a child that wasn’t even mine.’

She added: ‘I’m not sure how I feel. I feel sick, numb, angry and a failure. I’m totally heartbroken.
‘I’m so, so sorry baby girl. I’ll forever miss you but remember I’m bringing you justice.’
Kaur appeared in court yesterday, dressed in a grey T-shirt and jogging bottoms.
She spoke only to confirm her name and date of birth, and was ordered to appear for a further hearing today.
