Schoolboy, 11, dies at home after ‘unexplained incident’

An 11-year-old boy has been found dead in mysterious circumstances following an ‘unexplained incident’ in Lancaster.

Emergency services were called to the boy’s home in Lancashire on Saturday where he was found to be unresponsive.

The boy is believed to have died suddenly, and was pronounced dead shortly after being transferred to hospital.

Police have now launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, and are urging the public to come forward with information.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: ‘The death is currently being treated as unexplained and the Coroner has been informed.’

They added: ‘A police investigation is ongoing and the boy’s family are being supported by officers and our thoughts are with the boy’s loved ones at this incredibly sad time. If anyone has any information they are asked to contact Police on 101 Log 0527 of March 2.’
