Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith has slammed conspiracy theories floating around the Princess of Wales’ abdominal surgery.
Gary’s comments come as it was previously revealed that he ‘infuriated’ Kate’s family by signing up to Celebrity Big Brother.
The princess spent more than a week at The London Clinic after her planned abdominal surgery, before being discharged on January 29.
But her disappearance from the public eye has sparked a flurry of rumours about the surgery and if the Royal Family has been lying about the severity of it.
Taking to social media, her millionaire businessman uncle slammed those speculating over her condition, saying there’s a ‘reason why they’re not talking about it’.
Gary said: ‘They are giving her a little bit of space. I just think it’s fundamentally wrong and if it was happening to anybody else they would think to give them some space.

‘But because Kate’s Kate, she does such an amazing job, there’s always interest in her. She’s the number one royal for a reason and I just beg people to give her some space,’ reported the Mirror.
‘I do think that they’re changing the dynamic and they are family centric. They’ve got duty and it’s a privilege to have the roles that they do have, but it’s family first.
‘You’ve got to look after yourself. You put your own oxygen mask on before you look after others.
‘Kate, get well, love you and when you’re ready we’ll see you again. That’s what we do to anyone else, why not her?’
Despite defending his niece, Kate’s mum Carole is reportedly worried that her brother may say something wrong about the Princess and the Royal Family.
A source told The Sun: ‘Gary said he’s been read the riot act by Kate’s mum Carole and her dad Michael. They aren’t happy he’s going into Celebrity Big Brother.

‘It is infuriating for them. Kate doesn’t need this stress.’
Until his appearance on this season of Celebrity Big Brother, Goldsmith shied away from the public eye so his relationship with his niece hadn’t been reported on, although it is believed he and Kate were on good terms.
When asked about his family’s thoughts about his reality TV stint as he entered the Big Brother house for the first time, Goldsmith said Kate would be watching from ‘behind the sofa.’
In a videotape that aired before he entered the house, Gary said of his niece: ‘She is simply perfect.
‘First time I met William, Catherine was cooking and William said, “Hi, do you want a cup of tea?” Very normal.’
