New Kids On The Block are officially back with their first new album in over a decade with Still Kids, and it’s like they never left.
The group, made up of Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood, first made their debut in 1986 and had hits including Hangin’ Tough, Step by Step and I’ll Be Loving You (Forever).
11 years after their last release, they kicked off their chart comeback with new song Kids, and are set to premiere a music video later today.
With their new album, released on May 17, they promise to touch on their beginnings while also pushing them into ‘new territory’, with pop anthems and love songs for new fans and old-style Blockheads.
‘It’s the most mature album we’ve ever made,’ Donnie – brother of Mark Wahlberg – explained in a statement. ‘Yet it’s the most fun and most comfortable album we’ve ever made.
“This album, more than any other, is bringing the New Kids and the fans full circle.

‘It’s about hope and possibilities and being ourselves.’
Joey agreed: ‘It says a lot about any band to make a record that has energy and passion and lightness and fun and depth – after almost 40 years together? It’s crazy.’
NKOTB shared a glimpse at their new song on Instagram, instantly sending fans into a spin with the release.
Tdotkrissy cheered: ‘It’s midnight on the east coast and I’m listening to “KIDS” as I type this (and then off to bed lol). It’s such a catchy song! I love it!’
‘I may have awoken the whole town opening my eyes to this! Excuse the cursing but effing thankful!!!,’ Mariecappart replied.
‘Love love love it!!! THANK YOU!!! #bhlove,’ Yvonne_In_Frankfurt penned.
As Ddubloverx added: ‘It’s soo good!!! I cannot wait for the new album!’
There is a lot more for fans to get excited about, as Donnie and co are also going on a Magic Summer 2024 tour across the US – with performances starting on June 14 in Ohio.
Of course Blockheads went wild for the news (Picture: GC Images)
They will be joined on the road by Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff, with stops in New York, Florida, Texas, California and many, many more.
NKOTB dropped their self-titled debut album in the mid-80s, and remained a fixture of the charts ever since, with subsequent records Hangin’ Tough and Step by Step reaching the top spot.
Their last album, 10, came in 2013 and charted at number six in the US.
