Britain’s first leap-year quads are celebrating their third birthday today (technically speaking).
The parents of Reuben, Samuel, Zachary and Joshua Robbins only have to really celebrate the special occasion once every four years if they like because they were born on February 29 2012.
The boys defied the odds of 3.5 million to one and were born just over six minutes apart.
Emma Robbins, 43, and husband Martin already had a son Luke and decided to try for another baby only to end up with four more.
Emma joked: ‘Competition is fierce. They are still sorting out their pecking order and do require space.’
She had previously been told by doctors to terminate two of the babies to save the other two.

She said: ‘But I knew each time I looked at my surviving babies I’d also be thinking about the ones I’d lost.’
She went into labour two months before her due date.
Reuben was first and he was delivered by caesarean, then Zachary and finally Josh.
They now all live with their dad in Martin, 50, in Chepstow, south Wales, and Emma has since returned to her native South Africa with the boys’ older brother.
Sam looks like Luke while the other three are genetically identical.
