Thomas Kingston, the husband of Lady Gabriella Windsor, died suddenly aged 45 on Sunday.
The financier became a part of the Royal Family after marrying Lady Gabriella, the daughter of Prince Michael of Kent who was a cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Known as Tom to friends and family, he was a close with Pippa Middleton and attended her wedding to James Matthews in May 2017.
He also worked briefly at the Foreign Office, even travelling to Iraq to help to aid the release of hostages.
Lady Gabriella, who is 56th in line to the throne, described him as an ‘exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him’.
What did he do?
Mr Kingston studied economic history at the University of Bristol, and later became a chartered financial analyst.
His most recent position was listed as director of Devonport capital, which provides finance to companies operating in ’emerging economies’.

But his first job was in the Foreign Office, and in 2003 he became a project manager for a ‘government-sponsored conflict resolution project in Iraq’.
reverent Canon White, who ran the Anglican church in Baghdad described him as an ‘exceptional young man’, the Daily Mail reports.
In 2006 he joined Schroder’s Asset Management in London before moving to Voltan Capital Management in 2012.

Mr Kingston is survived by his parents Mr Martin Mrs Kill Kingston and his sisters Mrs Joanna Connolly and Mrs Emma Murray.
His wife Lady Gabriella is being supported by the Royal Household.
She is a writer and a contributing editor.
She has also worked as an arts and travel director for a brand company, and has released music for charity.
How did he meet Lady Gabriella Windsor?
Lady Gabriella and Mr Kingston married in May 2019.
He had discreetly moved in and around royal circles before tieing the knot with his wife.
Their marriage was a seemingly happy one, with the couple joining each other a social events.

Mr Kingston accompanied Lady Gabriella to the Queen’s funeral in 2022.
They were last pictured today on Valentine’s Day at an event celebrating the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s First Folio.
What do we know so far about his death?
Gloucestershire Constabulary said it was called by the ambulance service about the death of Mr Kingston at 6.25pm on Sunday.
They confirmed it was not being treated as suspicious.

In a statement, a spokesman for Buckingham Palace said: ‘The King and The Queen have been informed of Thomas’s death and join Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and all those who knew him in grieving a much-loved member of the family.
‘In particular, Their Majesties send their most heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Gabriella and to all the Kingston family’.
A second statement released by the Palace on behalf of Lady Gabriella, Thomas’s parents and his sisters, read: ‘It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Kingston, our beloved husband, son and brother.
‘Tom was an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him. His death has come as a great shock to the whole family and we ask you to respect our privacy as we mourn his passing.’
