A father confessed to his wife through a doorbell camera that he shot their son dead.
David De Jesus Contreras, 52, held a hand to his head and choked up as he spoke to his wife through the Ring camera after she asked of their 22-year-old son Eric Contreras: ‘Is he alive? Is he breathing?’
‘He’s not breathing. He’s dead. The fighting on the way home was unbearable,’ David could be seen saying in the footage obtained by Local 10 News last week.
Eric, student at Florida International University, returned to his family’s home in Miami to celebrate his 23rd birthday with them on November 6.

But three days before his birthday, his father allegedly shot him dead.
David’s wife could be heard asking why the violence unfolded. David said things escalated quickly ‘from one second to the next’ and mentioned his son fighting with girls and asking if girls could sleep over, to which he said no.
‘It’s not your fault. Please call my brother,’ David could be seen begging his wife in the video.
David couched to the ground in agony at one point.

David called 911 moments after the doorbell camera confession and told dispatchers, ‘I just shot my son.’

He is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center until his next court date set for March 11.
It was not immediately known what the father and son were fighting about.
The Contreras’ home is in the quiet Kendall unincorporated area in Miami-Dade County.
Eric’s death came over a year after a dad was recorded on a Ring doorbell camera shooting his daughter’s ex-boyfriend dead while he tried to break into their home in Sydney, Ohio.
