A Subway customer is devastated after being charged more than $1,000 for a few sandwiches.

Letitia Bishop ordered three sandwiches for herself and her family from a Subway location inside the Thorntons gas station in Columbus, Ohio.

She was shocked to find her debit card was charged $1,021.50 total, including $1,010 for one sandwich, her January 6 receipt obtained by WSYC ABC 6’s ‘On Your Side’ shows.

‘There’s no way, unless it’s wrapped in gold or from some other place,’ said Bishop. ‘I would never pay $1,010 for a Subway sandwich.’

Bishop said the charge made her account go into the negative.

She returned to the sandwich shop only to find it strangely closed.

Bishop added that she spoke to a Subway employee in person and ‘was trying to see what was going on, and to see if they can instantly credit me back’.

She said she was told she had to contact Subway’s corporate section directly but that there was no phone number that lead to a live representative.

‘I’m just trying to make ends meet at this point,’ she said. ‘Stressed, overwhelmed – I couldn’t get groceries at one point because my account was negative.’

It happened only three days after a Subway customer allegedly attacked an employee because the hero he ordered was not sliced in half.

And it is not the only recent incident in which a fast food customer has been charged more than they anticipated for an order. On January 27, Bespoke Investment Group shared a receipt from a McDonald’s on Round Hill Road in Fairfield, Connecticut, showing Egg McMuffins charged at a whopping $7.29 each.
