Video footage caught the terrifying moment an alligator chased after two golfers, almost causing their golf buggy to crash into a pond.

It happened in Florida, where alligator sightings on golf courses are pretty common.

However, the reptiles are known for being docile and rarely bother humans,

But on this occasion the beast is seen running towards the cart, causing the driver to swerve off the road.

They narrowly miss the pond, where it’s not unlikely there are more of the creatures.

The clip was shared on X, formerly Twitter, and captioned: ‘Florida golf just hits different.’

Several people commented below, with one X user confirming alligators are often seen on Florida courses and posted a video of him shooing one away with his club.

Another wrote: ‘Damn, dinosaurs are coming for us.”

While a third said: ‘This is my type of golfing.’

And a fourth added: ‘Apparently he thought a warm meal was being delivered to him…’

Last year, an alligator bound for someone’s plate jumped from a balcony more than 20 storeys high and survived.

CCTV footage showed the one-metre-long gator plummeting from the high-rise building in Shenzhen, China with its fall broken by a shop’s canopy.
