A student who wrote a guide to making weapons and bombs for ‘misfits’ and ‘social nobodies’ has been convicted of terror offences.

Jacob Graham, 19, compiled an ‘online arsenal’ on his computer of information on firearms and explosives – including pipe, nail and car bombs – many of which could be made at home with basic skills and using readily available materials.

He titled it the ‘Freedom Encyclopedia’ and dedicated it to ‘misfits, social nobodies, Anarchists, Terrorists (future and present) who wants to fight for freedom… against the Government’.

Meanwhile he recorded dozens of video messages from his bedroom in his mum’s home in Liverpool in which he spoke of his motives.

A court heard he blamed the government for his ‘unsatisfcatory’ life and believed it was tyrannising ‘working class’ people.

He spoke of going on a ‘rampage’ and idolised Theodore Kaczynski, the US terrorist known as the Unabomber who killed three people with mail bombings after penning a 35,000-word manifesto railing against modern society and technology.

The court heard he sent documents on making explosives and a home-made submachine gun to online contacts.

After his arrest in May 2023, police found various chemicals which could be used to make explosive substances.

Jurors were told he also carried out chemical experiments and stashed more chemicals in a woodland near his home six weeks before his arrest.

Police also found a 3D printer which could be used to print parts of firearms for assembly at home.

At trial, Graham, who studied at Hugh Baird College in Bootle, claimed his activities were nothing more than ‘escapism and fantasy’.

Graham will be sentenced next month (Picture: PA)

He was cleared of planning a terrorist attack but was convicted of seven other counts, including the preparation of terrorist acts.

They also included four counts of possession of information for terrorist purposes and two of dissemination of a terrorist publication, between May 2022 and May 2023.

He was cleared of another count of preparation of terrorist acts.

He was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on March 18.
