A body recovered from the River Thames has been formally identified as Abdul Ezedi’s who died from drowning.
His cause of death was confirmed following a post-mortem examination carried out on Wednesday.
Ezedi’s family were informed after he was formally identified on Thursday and a file will be passed to the coroner.
His former girlfriend and mum-of-two was doused with a corrosive chemical alongside her children aged eight and three in Clapham, south west London, last month.
Met Commander Jon Savell said: ‘We have worked to formally identify Ezedi as quickly as possible.
‘As the public would expect, our inquiries continue into this atrocious attack. The 31-year-old woman is still in hospital and remains in a stable condition and no longer sedated.
‘We have still not been able to speak to her but hope to as soon as she is well enough.’

Ezedi fled the scene from Clapham by using his bank card to get on the Tube and then walked alongside the River Thames in the following hours.
Investigators pieced together various bits of CCTV together to determine that Ezedi had jumped into the river.
