A gang member who helped steal the £3,500,000 Portland Tiara has been sentenced.
Kelly Duong, 35, has been sentenced to two years, suspended for 21 months, after she helped organise the heist.
The historic tiara and a diamond brooch from an armoured glass display were all stolen from the Harley Gallery in November 2018.
Judge James Sampson described the haul as ‘culturally priceless’ and said the gang’s crime was a ‘heinous act on the country’s heritage’.
He said: ‘The loss to the nation has been significant, the diamonds will never be recovered.’
Duong’s former boyfriend, Ashley Cumberpatch, was jailed for 24 years for his part of the heist, and Andrew McDonald, 44, was jailed for 27 years.
The gang wore motorcycle helmets and boiler suits to steal the jewellery.
In September 2019 both Duong and Cumberpatch were jailed after a 95-year-old woman found a sawn-off shotgun in her garden two years prior.
The couple had their DNA on the weapon, landing them with a sentence of seven years and 18 months each.
