Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Mohamed Salah is back in contention to start for Liverpool in this weekend’s Premier League clash against Brentford.
Salah picked up a hamstring problem on international duty for Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, which saw him leave the tournament early to focus on recovery.
The 31-year-old has missed his side’s last eight games but has resumed first-team training ahead of the weekend.
‘Mo is back in full training. That brings him automatically into contention,’ the German confirmed at his pre-match press conference.
The Reds will also be boosted by the return of Joe Gomez and Allison, who both missed the 3-1 win over Burnley last weekend, while Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate return from compassionate leave and suspension respectively.
Saturday’s game will come too soon for Thiago and Trent Alexander-Arnold, however, with Dominik Szoboszlai still a doubt having suffered a hamstring injury in late January.
Thiago picked up another injury following a brief six-minute cameo appearance against Arsenal, while Alexander-Arnold suffered a recurrence of a knee problem that saw the right-back miss three games in January.

Reports suggest that the Englishman could miss next weekend’s Carabao Cup final against Chelsea but Klopp strongly refuted the notion that Liverpool had forced him back too quickly.
‘I caught some of the news where there was a discussion we might have forced Trent back,’ the 56-year-old began.
‘He has had setbacks and nobody wants that. As long as I’ve been here we’ve never forced anyone back.
