A British tourist has been killed in a horror head-on crash with a six-tonne truck in the early hours of this morning.
The unnamed man posted a Valentine’s Day message to his wife just hours before riding a scooter back from the beach on the island of Phuket in southern Thailand.
Witnesses said his bike veered into the opposite lane and ploughed into the front of an oncoming Isuzu NLR 130 delivery truck.
The force of impact flung his motorcycle threw the air and it hit a grey Toyota minivan.
He was pronounced dead at the scene from severe head injuries shortly after 5am local time.
His last message online was: ‘I want to wish my beautiful wife a wonderful Valentines Day. I want to give you everything you deserve and more.. You are my rock and my world. I love you with all my heart.’

Shaken lorry driver Hakam Yuso, 26, said: ‘I was driving from the roundabout towards the beach. I saw the motorcycle cut into my lane and it crashed into the front of the truck.
‘I did not have time to react. I head a loud bang when the motorcycle hit the vehicle and it skidded across the road.
‘Straight away I stopped driving and moved the lorry to the side of the road and waited for the ambulance and police.’
Officers said they are now waiting for the results of a post-mortem examination to see if the tourist had been riding the motorcycle while under the influence of drink or drugs.

Lieutenant Colonel Tamen Somrak, the on-duty officer who dealt with the crash, said: ‘The station received notification from the radio centre at around 5:10 am that there had been a crash involving three vehicles.
‘The British man was dead when paramedics arrived. His body has been taken to the Vachira Phuket Hospital for a full autopsy.
‘The accounts from the two other drivers involved are that the British man cut into the land of the oncoming truck and hit it head-on.’
The policeman said the details of the incident have been sent to the British Embassy, which is contacting his family in the UK.
