Two British men are wanted after allegedly beating a businessman to death at a Bangkok apartment and stealing more than £100,000.
The Scottish pair, identified only as ‘William and John’, allegedly met the 50-year-old Burmese victim, Kyaw Zeyar for a ‘black money’ business deal in the Thai capital.
It’s thought they were at his flat in the red light district yesterday evening when negotiations fell through and a heated row broke out.
Police suspect the men beat up Mr Zeyar, smashing his head against the floor, before ransacking the apartment and stealing 5,000,000 THB (around £110,000) from a safe.
Mr Zeyar’s stepmother, who lived with him, was knocked unconscious during the scuffle and awoke to find her son on the floor ‘breathing weakly’.
She called for help and medics tried to save him but he died at the scene. It’s thought the head injury killed him.
When police attended, shortly after 11.15pm, they found his body on the floor covered in blood.

The room was in disarray, with a broken doorknob and the batteries removed from the keycard slot.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Therdsak said: ‘After reviewing the surveillance footage, we believe the suspects were the two dark-skinned Scottish men. One of them was bald.
‘They hastily fled the scene after perpetrating the crime.

‘We have coordinated with the Wat Phraya Krai Police Station to gather information on the suspects, who were residing at Shangri-La Bangkok hotel.
‘Furthermore, we reached out to the Immigration Bureau at Suvarnabhumi Airport to prevent them from escaping Thailand.
‘It is suspected that the victim and the suspects were engaged in black money business. Negotiations failed, which led to the murder.
‘The cause of death is believed to be when the suspects forcefully struck the victim’s head against the floor.’

Mr Zeyar’s stepmother said she and her son had been living in Thailand for around four months.
The deceased had bought a safe to store the five million THB cash earlier that morning before meeting with the British men at around 8:30 pm.
She said: ‘I saw that they were fighting and I tried to intervene, but the man named William knocked me out cold.

‘When I woke up, I found my son covered in blood but still breathing weakly.’
The woman’s phone was missing, but the suspects didn’t take Mr Zeyar’s phone, which contained the men’s contact information and messages from them.
The apartment block lies just yards from the hedonistic Nana Plaza strip club, known as ‘the world’s largest adult entertainment complex’.
