Matthew Healy was found dead in the early hours of Friday morning
A woman has appeared in court accused of murdering her own son.
Ruth Purcell-Healy is accused of killing her six-year-old son, Matthew, in Rathmoylan, Co Waterford in southern Ireland on February 8 or 9.
Matthew was found in a car near a seaside cove in the early hours of Friday morning, and Garda say the investigation into his death continues.
A vigil was held for Matthew at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity on Saturday evening, and his funeral is planned for Wednesday.
Tributes to Matthew, who played football with Park Rangers AFC in Faithlegg, have flooded in.
Purcell-Healy, 37, appeared at Waterford District Court this evening and she’s been remanded in custody at Limerick prison.
